Tourism Superstar
Voting is underway for the Tourism Superstar 2026 competition: 9 February – 22 March 2026
We’re thrilled to share that Sheila Hannon — the brilliant mind behind our Cary Comes Home theatre walk, celebrating Cary Grant’s remarkable journey from Bristol boy to global icon — has been shortlisted for the national Tourism Superstar 2026 award.
Through her work with Show of Strength Theatre Company, Sheila’s theatre walks transform local history into unforgettable preformances. Whether tracing Cary Grant’s early life or uncovering the hidden literary heritage, colourful characters, and sometimes grisly pasts of Bristol, Bath and the wider region — from extraordinary women and working‑class histories to notorious crimes and local legends, Sheila’s vividly told stories help people connect with place.
Sheila’s nomination is an opportunity to spotlight the South West as a vibrant cultural and heritage destination — including its growing reputation for screen tourism, with Cary Grant as a natural ambassador — which sits beautifully alongside VisitBritain’s wider #StarringGreatBritain campaign celebrating the UK’s film and TV locations.
Public voting is now open, and we’d love your support. A win for Sheila is a win for Cary Grant’s legacy. Let’s help bring this one home for Bristol and the region!
