Our panel includes:

Dr Kate Holmes is a leading circus and popular entertainments researcher, and Cary Grant fan. Her own amateur aerial performance practice and circus-going led her to research aerial history. Kate examines how dynamic motion excited audiences and reveals more about culture and society. She is also interested in how transatlantic early twentieth century performers made a living moving between film, vaudeville, variety and circus. Kate has researched Bristol circus history and loves talking about movement.
Professor Charlotte Crofts is a professor of Cinema Arts at the University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) and director of the Cary Comes Home Festival. A filmmaker and creative producer, she works across film, locative-media, and festival curation.  Her work in cinema history is exemplified by her creation of various location-based apps, such as the Curzon Memories App and the Lost Cinemas of Castle Park App. She is passionate about local cinema history and culture and initiated and serves on the steering committee of Bristol City of Film.
