THIS EVENT WAS POSTPONED DUE TO PANDEMIC BUT IS RUNNING IN 2022
Take a tour of the places which helped to transform Bristol boy Archie Leach into the Hollywood star & style icon Cary Grant.
A fun and informative exploration of the city centre locations associated with the Bristol-born film star Cary Grant, both during his boyhood and on his very many return visits. This tour has been especially created for Bristol Walk Fest by the Cary Grant Comes Home for the Weekend Festival, in collaboration with Bristol Civic Society.
Meet in the entrance of The Royal Marriott Hotel, College Green at 1.45pm – the walk will start promptly at 2pm. Meet in the foyer if it’s raining. This gentle walk is wheelchair accessible, with no big climbs. Your knowledgable guide will shine a new light on Bristol places closely associated with the boy and man, ends 3.30pm approx.
It will carry on come rain or shine, so please bring what footwear and clothing you need to make the tour comfortable!
The walk is free, but “Pay What You Think” donations are most welcome and will go to support future Cary Comes Home festival activities.
The WalkFest brochure and bookings will be available from mid-March.
This is a free event run by our volunteers. Show your love for the festival and our guide by donating here:
