Online Piano Concert with Cate Bryan – 28 November 2025
Join us online for Penny Serenade: Recording the Sentimental Seasons, a online special piano concert celebrating one of his most emotional performances. Streaming live from Iowa, pianist Cate Bryan, NCTM will perform the songs that shape the film’s emotional “seasons,” revealing how harmonic shifts, unresolved chords, and even silence amplify the power of this classic tearjerker.
Cate visited the Cary Comes Home Festival in 2024 and is pictured above next to the Cary Grant statue in Millennium Square, Bristol. We’re thrilled to welcome her back—this time virtually—for an intimate musical experience.
This free online event is the perfect prelude to our UK big-screen screening of Penny Serenade the following day in Cary Grant’s hometown of Bristol. On Saturday 29 November, experience Penny Serenade as it was meant to be seen—on the Bristol Megascreen—with 78rpm records playing in the foyer, live choirs singing songs from the film, and an expert panel discussion about music and melodrama after the screening.
