Cary Grant Statue Turns 20

Check out our events celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the unveiling of the Cary Grant statue in Millennium Square, Bristol UK.

We’re putting on a special edition of the Looking for Archie walking tour of Bristol City Centre which ends at the statue on Sunday 5 December, starting at 2pm. Then on Tuesday 7 December – the actual anniversary – we’ll meet at the statue to celebrate Statue Cary’s 20th birthday at 6.30 followed by a live online conversation with David Long, the man who successfully campaigned for the statue, to hear all about how he convinced Bristol to honour one of our brightest stars.

Bristol Walk Fest

We’re excited to be working with Bristol Walk Fest to put on another Looking for Archie Walking Tour of Cary Grant’s Bristol. Walk Fest is Bristol city’s hugely popular, annual walking festival – a celebration of walking and walks throughout the city which will be taking place from Wednesday, 1 May to Friday, 31 May 2019.

Bristol’s month-long walking festival, now in its seventh successful year, regularly attracts over 3,000 walkers from across the city and beyond.

Each year there is a variety of walking events on offer. Whether you like historical tours, nature walks, exploring street art, walking sports, or you just want to get fit and enjoy some fresh air, there is something for everyone.

This tour has been especially created for Bristol Walk Fest by the Cary Grant Comes Home for the Weekend Festival, in collaboration with Bristol Civic Society.

The walk takes place on Tuesday 14 May at 10am, departing from the wonderful, newly renovated Royal Marriott Hotel, Bristol.
